Brief History of Subway Tile
Subway tile was first used in 1904 when the New York City Subway System opened. Subway tile was chosen for its durability and its smooth surface which was easy to clean. Manufacturers have increased the size and durability of subway tile since its introduction in the early 1900's. Subway tile has become largely used in houses around the world due to its versatility. The most common room you will find subway tile used in is the bathroom. Subway tile's clean look can make any bathroom look superb.
When people think of subway tile they generally think of a white or black brick shaped tile.
