Glass and Stone Fireplace Mosaic
After Jayme updated her kitchen and bathrooms, she noticed that her fireplace no longer matched the rest of the decor throughout the house. On top of that, the marble surrounding the fireplace was beginning to crack and would also need new grout. Rather than patching the tile and adding new grout, Jayme took this opportunity to give the fireplace a sleeker, modern update.
Inspired by what she had accomplished in her kitchen and bathrooms, Jayme used some of the same subway glass to frame the fireplace and tie the spaces together. Originally Jayme was wanting to choose a mosaic that contained a blue color to tie into the paint, but after ordering some samples from SouthCypress.com decided that a more neutral color might work better.
Jayme chose Bliss 5/8″ x Random – Cotton Wood Linear Mosaic to cover the face of the fireplace because of its variety of neutral tones that work well with the rest of her decor. A new modern mantle was built from wood to complete the project.
This relatively simple project is a great way to transform a space to your own design taste. Jayme is thrilled with how her project turned out and we can’t wait to see what she does next!
