When Jeanne was left with her parents retirement home of 35 years, the kitchen had become cramped and outdated. She decided that she wanted to overhaul the kitchen to bring it up to speed with current styles while also giving it a more open feel.
The kitchen prior to renovation
The previous kitchen featured natural wood cabinets, white appliances, and a tile floor. Jeanne wanted to lighten the space and give it a more open feel.
The new paint on the cabinetry helps give the kitchen a modern feel
To start, Jeanne decided to paint the outdated cabinets with a more modern grey that would better match with the new appliances and countertop. The paint was from Sherwin Williams and the color was Argus. She loves the new color!
Hardwood replaced the outdated tile
Jeanne also replaced the old tile floor with new hardwood. The whole kitchen saw an upgrade!
The new backsplash from SouthCypress.com
For the backsplash, Jeanne decided on beautiful 5th Avenue Smoke 3″ x 6″ glossy subway tile from SouthCypress.com. She loved this tile because of the wonderful color and finish. It looks great!
The new kitchen!
The finished kitchen! Jeanne’s color palette consisted of different shades of grey with a soft yellow to complement and modernize the look. Jeanne replaced the old white appliances with sleek new stainless steel ones that match wonderfully with the grey cabinets and backsplash. To top it all off, she installed a brand new white Carrara quartz countertop. It really is quite the transformation!
